Buffer the solution against pH changes that would increase volatility.
Stabilize the solution to prevent harmful oxidative reactions.
Slow the oxidation of iodine to iodide.


In addition, Cardinal Health developed Nuclear Medicine Patient Cards for our customers. These cards help the traveling nuclear medicine patient provide an explanation to security or law enforcement personnel in case safety-monitoring equipment is triggered.
